Houston Airport Transportation To Galveston Cruise Terminal

Southwest Landing in Houston with great Astrodome View
A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 lands at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston, Texas after a flight from Orlando, Florida (MCO) in April 2015. Starting out with views of the west end of Galveston Bay and La Porte, Texas including the Bayport Cruise Terminal and Container Facility, the southernmost part of the Houston Ship Channel. Continuing on the Hartman Bridge and later the San Jacinto Monument can be faintly seen in the distance.

The next segment features a brief aerial view of Hobby Airport, and then we get to some incredible views of two stadiums. NRG Stadium is the current home of the Houston Texans NFL franchise and the annual Houston Rodeo (largest in the world). The smaller, round stadium is the Astrodome, which on this very day was celebrating its 50th anniversary. It may no longer be the “8th Wonder of the World” and is awaiting an uncertain fate, but it is still an incredible structure, one that helped define Houston in the latter half of the 20th century. We then make a turn over the Texas Medical Center, the largest concentration of medical facilities in the world, and the Houston Zoo before coming in for what was a very hard landing. Enjoy!
